In 2021 I stepped away from the service industry to focus my efforts on my family.  During this time I was still receiving calls from managers around the country with the same complaint that I always had....THERE AREN'T ANY GOOD RECRUITS COMING THROUGH THE PIPELINE.  It is a common complaint in every company  I was employed.  What did we ever do about it other than institute our own training programs?  Short answer; NOTHING.  I decided it was time to change that and put my money where my mouth had been for 20 years. 

 

The first step in my process was teaming with a high schools technical program and begin offering NDT classes to students in high school.  Start 'em young, raise 'em right. I took a position with a local high school and went from 6 figures to virtually nothing.  The goal was to bring the younger generation up through industry.  I taught at that level and did Welding Technology and NDT classes for the students.

Through my time at the school and doing consulting jobs I saw a big gap in the training.  That is where this online training developed.  I have always been against training that did not offer hands on, so naturally, I was against Online NDT Training.  Then speaking with a company I realized that if someone is already in industry and they are gaining their hands on day in and day out, do we really need to rehash it in class?  The answer is simple.  No.  The online portion of my program is meant for those working individuals that just need the classroom training so they can become certified as Level II technicians; their OJT is done, and they just lack this one step in the process.

 

​So what sets me apart?  My program combines the ease of online with the availability of further explanation by myself throughout the course.  Students can set a time for a virtual meeting where I will answer questions and explain items in more detail if needed.  I also have learned from my high school students what type of training works the best (spoiler - it's not what is being done in industry).

Welding?  There is a big population that is not being reached.  More and more kids are turning to homeschooling and are constantly looking for trade programs they can be involved with.  I will be offering welding classes to these students in my personal shop.  Contact me today if your student would be interested.
